Know the true import cost
before you buy.

Describe your shipment in plain English. We separate the goods price from freight, duty, VAT and the charges that appear at the border — then show you a range you can defend in a supplier negotiation.

01 How it works

Four steps. One clear number.

The calculator is designed around what an importer actually knows. You do not need to learn HS chapters before you can get a useful answer.

01

Describe it like a message

Product, quantity, lane and value. “100 used speakers from China to Dubai, FOB $20,000” is enough to start.

02

Confirm what we read

Every extracted field is visible. We flag assumptions, show missing information and ask one question that actually changes the result.

03

Get a range, not a promise

Freight, duty, VAT, clearance, port and inland delivery stay separate. Low, expected and high cases show where uncertainty lives.

04

Decide before you wire

Save the report, compare destination countries, solve back to a maximum FOB, or ask a broker to verify the assumptions.

02 What you get

Built for the questions after the calculator.

Most import calculators stop at duty. The decisions that matter start after you know the duty: can I afford the goods, which border is cheaper, is the supplier quote complete?

The reverse calculation

Your buyer gave you a price.
Work backwards.

Most calculators only go one way: FOB in, landed cost out. Reverse FOB starts with the number you can sell at and solves for the maximum FOB you can pay — including the duty and VAT that scale with the purchase price.

Illustrative arithmetic. The live tool solves against your lane, quantity and shipping mode.

03 Coverage

Where the model is deepest.

We would rather be honest about three markets than shallow about thirty. These lanes have category-level duty ranges, local charge models and source records. Other destinations are planning coverage only.

04 Trust

We show what we know —
and what we don’t.

A single precise number hides the most important part of an import estimate. Every line in a FOBtoDDP report carries its evidence level and its basis.

User input

You told us

The supplier price, quantity, origin or destination you supplied. Editable, never silently overwritten.

Rule-based

A rule was applied

A published category planning rate, statutory fee or VAT rate. The source and review date are attached.

Estimated

A range was modelled

Freight, clearance, port and inland charges. Useful for a decision, not a substitute for a quote.

Missing

We cannot know yet

Classification, permits or a route we do not cover. It is called out instead of filled with a guess.

05 Policy watch

One lane. One email when it moves.

Duty rates, trade measures and VAT rules change. Tell us the lane and category you actually import; we will only write when something relevant changes.
